LAUNCH A FUNDRAISER

Empower Change Through Fundraising

Are you looking for a meaningful way to make a substantial impact in the fight against hunger? Consider hosting a fund drive for the SLO Food Bank instead of a traditional food drive. With the support of in-person and online fundraisers, the SLO Food Bank has been able to maximize the number of neighbors we can nourish in our mission to alleviate hunger.

How does fundraising maximize your impact?

Our highly efficient purchasing power enables us to acquire four times the amount of food that could be obtained at a nearby grocery store. By hosting a fund drive and leveraging this incredible multiplier effect, your generosity will ensure a steady supply of necessary provisions to power our programs. Together, let’s create a lasting impact and transform lives through the power of fundraising.

HOST AN EFFECTIVE FOOD DRIVE

How to Host a Food Drive

We are so appreciative of your dedication to hosting food drives that are efficient, minimize food waste, and meet your neighbors’ nutritional needs.

Please contact us at [email protected] before you begin your food drive. This allows us to provide you with resources that will make your drive a success. It also allows our Operations team to plan for the incoming items!

Additionally, here are three steps to hosting a Food Drive with the SLO Food Bank.

Three Things to Consider Before Hosting a Food Drive

1. CONSIDER HOSTING A
VIRTUAL FOOD DRIVE

Using our highly efficient purchasing power, the SLO Food Bank can purchase higher quantities of nutritious food that meet our neighbors’ needs.

2. Spread the love with a
PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE

Drives for peanut, sunflower, and almond butters provide an efficient way for SLO Food Bank to provide critical protein directly to people in need.

3. TRACK Nutrition &
Expiration Dates

The SLO Food Bank cannot accept items that are too high in sodium, saturated fats, and added sugar or are dated past our expiration standards.

Spread the Love Campaign

Looking for a unique way to support the SLO Food Bank and make a significant impact on our neighbors’ nutrition? Consider hosting a Spread the Love Drive for nut butters! The SLO Food Bank has a special need for items like peanut, sunflower, and almond butters, as they are highly nutritious and in high demand among those we serve.

That’s why we’re asking for you to host a Spread the Love Drive. Together, let’s ensure that our neighbors have access to these essential and protein-packed spreads to support their health and well-being.

To assist you in your efforts, we have provided example messaging and customizable posters that you can use for your campaign. Your efforts can truly make a difference in nourishing our community.
